Issa Diao began writing at a young age but quickly gave it up because it was too boring and time consuming. Being in a band sounded like a much better use of his time...if only he had been able to play an instrument it would have been the perfect plan. Eventually he discovered that in punk rock a premium wasn't always placed on talent, and thus, following the path of least resistance, Good Clean Fun was born.
It turned out that writing lyrics was a whole lot easier than the novels Issa had attempted in the past, and he quickly found his calling. Good Clean Fun's witty, positive lyrics helped them stand out from other bands and attract a devoted following.
After ten years of being on the road in 35 countries (and some random islands) Issa returned home and found that he had a lot to write about. Maybe it was being older, maybe it was just looking for any excuse to not live in a van anymore, but whatever it was, Issa felt the drive to write. He still wasn't ready to tackle novels, but screenplays called his name. Combining his long experience working with audio and video in recording studios and on music video sets with his natural storytelling ability, making movies was the logical next step.
